Community Web Branding Competition

KnowledgeOman.com, the country’s leading community and knowledge sharing portal, is bringing the community an exclusive opportunity to take part in designing a new interface for the portal, aligned with its branding and community vision. KnowledgeOman.com enjoys a competitive advantage in the country, with a quality rich portal and community projects, and continues to make progress by setting out to further empower its brand with a new web design that reflects its nation-building role. As a community driven project, the new design of the KnowledgeOman.com portal will be driven by the members themselves in a web branding competition.

Talal Al Farsi, Technical Manager at KnowledgeOman.com, said, “With our web branding competition, members have the opportunity to play a major role in the development of KnowledgeOman.com by designing a portal that represents us as a one stop destination for all knowledge-seekers and a knowledge-hub of various initiatives and projects. This also reflects our role to cultivate the benefits of digital technology and ensure a winning presence.”

The KnowledgeOman.com branding web design competition runs from December 5th to December 23rd 2009. The design must reflect the color theme of the winning KO logo in a refreshing branded approach with a clean innovative design and ease of navigation. Everyone is welcome to participate and showcase their talent by registering as a member at www.knowledgeoman.com and taking part. The winner will be announced in January 2010 and honored with a prize and a certificate of excellence by the KO President Tariq Al Barwani.

KnowledgeOman.com will hold an exclusive workshop in January 2010 about Success and Planning presented by KO President and Founder, Tariq Hilal Al Barwani, for the most active members as recognition for their role in sharing knowledge and actively participating towards a knowledge-based society, while further empowering them with the tools of success.

All KO members qualify to be enrolled in this workshop with a competitive selection of only 20 attendees based on their participation in the month of December 2009 on the following criteria:

• Top 5 most active members with more than 50 new posts in December and Top 5 most active new members with more than 50 posts during December in KO English
• Top 5 most active members with more than 50 new posts in December and Top 5 most active new members with more than 50 posts during December in KO Arabic

The selected members will be chosen on both the quality and quantity of their participation and the value added. This is an opportunity for silent voices to step up and take part, for active voices to further challenge their excellence, and for new individuals to showcase their talent on their way to qualifying for this exclusive workshop.
